Partners in Entrepreneurial Pathways 2.0: Beyond the Business Plan launched for the Spring semester last Tuesday and it’s been a wonderful first couple weeks of class. In our kickoff sessions, Ashley Hinson Dhakal, Communications Manager here at SCEC and owner of AHD Design, joined us to dive deeper into branding, design, and website creation. We learned more about strategies on how to identify your ideal customer and how to craft a compelling brand identity that will resonate with your audience. We discovered tools and strategies to help with creating eye-catching visuals that can help your business to stand out from the competition and draw in your ideal customer. & website design became a bit easier once we learned more about the essentials of website design, different content strategies, and tips to boost our online presence.
Coming up next week is a focus on marketing with Know Your Market: Beyond the Basics running from 2-3:30p followed by Get Seen: Boosting Market Visibility running from 3:45-5p. In Know Your Market we’re joined by Brandon McDonald of Northern Maine Development Commission where we’ll learn more about market research, customer insights, and different strategies that can be used to connect with your ideal audience. We’ll discover more about what drives your customers to make the decisions that they do and how to best reach them. In Get Seen we’re joined by Cecil Gardner of DownEast Acadia Regional Tourism and Jessica Crowley of Sunrise County Economic Council who’ll go over how to maximize your business exposure with low-cost certifications, listings, and business directories. We’ll also learn more about how tourism impacts visibility and how to stand out in competitive spaces.
